Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information iStrangerChat collects when you use istrangerchat.com, why, and what you can do about it. Read it together with our Terms of Service.
1. What we collect

We do not ask for your real name, email, phone number or password, and we do not set advertising cookies ourselves.
2. Why we use it
- To run the chat: show your profile and country flag to others and deliver messages.
- Safety and moderation: review reports, stop spam and abuse, and block people who break the rules, including by IP address or device.
- Legal duties: respond to lawful requests from authorities and report illegal content such as child sexual abuse material.
- Running the Service: keep it secure and working, and count how often ads are shown.
3. Who can see it
- Other users see your display name, age, gender, marital status, country, bio, photo and the messages you send them or post in rooms.
- Our moderators can see all stored information, including private messages and IP addresses, to keep the Service safe.
- Service providers who process data for us: Cloudflare (network, security and country detection), DigitalOcean (server hosting in Singapore), and ip-api.com (country lookup when Cloudflare cannot provide it).
- Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm.
We do not sell your information.
4. Advertising
When the Service opens an advertiser's website, that site and its partners may collect information under their own privacy policies. We only record that an ad was shown.
5. How long we keep it
We keep messages, photos and connection details for as long as we need them for safety, moderation and legal purposes, and records linked to a block or a report may be kept longer. Information saved in your browser stays until you clear your browser data.
6. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on a protected server with limited access. No system is perfectly secure, so do not share anything in chat you would not want others to see.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can use the Service without giving your real identity, and you can skip the photo and bio.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete information linked to your sessions. Email [email protected] with your username and the date and time you chatted. We may keep information we need for legal reasons or to enforce a block.
- Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or the EU GDPR) you may have further rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
8. Adults only
The Service is only for people aged 18 or over. If we learn that we hold information from someone under 18, we delete it, unless we must keep it to report illegal activity.
9. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. If the changes are important, we will tell you before you next join a chat.
